We are seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Support SME to support a federal client agency in cloud modernization, AI adoption, data strategy, and secure operational delivery. This is a senior individual contractor role for a hands-on expert who will contribute technical expertise, implementation support, documentation, analysis, and advisory services across mission-critical initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), working knowledge of AWS, and a proven ability to support the design, implementation, documentation, and transition of operational systems in regulated or public-sector environments. This person should be comfortable supporting senior technical and program leadership while contributing directly to technical execution and delivery.

This role supports high-visibility federal initiatives focused on workflow modernization, advanced analytics, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities. The Senior Cloud Solutions Support SME will provide hands-on technical support, analysis, documentation, and implementation assistance across cloud, data, AI, and operational workstreams.
This position is best suited for a senior technical professional who combines implementation depth, compliance awareness, cloud delivery discipline, and the ability to translate requirements into practical, production-ready contributions within a broader team structure.
Responsibilities
Support senior management and technical teams with technical consultation, analysis, and recommendations regarding GCP environments, cloud modernization, data strategy, AI-enabled capabilities, and cybersecurity compliance.
Support the design, build, documentation, and operationalization of technical solutions that address complex organizational, mission, and business challenges.
Prepare or contribute to solution architectures, implementation materials, data mappings, briefings, technical products, and strategic documentation.
Support organizational assessments and help align cloud, data, AI, and workflow modernization efforts to agency goals and performance objectives.
Contribute to the design and operationalization of advanced analytics, automation, and intelligent decision-support capabilities using structured and unstructured data within GCP environments.
Support the transition of technical solutions into approved, scalable, and secure GCP environments aligned with federal governance, security, and operational standards.
Assist with cloud architecture activities, deployment support, release readiness, production documentation, and operational sustainment.
Support training, technical transition activities, and workforce enablement efforts to improve adoption and long-term sustainability.
Contribute to program performance metrics, evaluation inputs, and continuous improvement recommendations.
Serve as a senior technical contributor supporting modernization efforts impacting mission-critical federal programs.
Collaborate with business, technical, security, and program teams to help ensure solutions are practical, compliant, and aligned to mission outcomes.
Requirements
Master’s degree or Doctorate in a relevant field.
Minimum of 10 years of specialized technical management or senior technical support experience in cloud environments, enterprise modernization, or workflow modernization initiatives.
Prior experience supporting federal, state, public-sector, or similarly regulated organizations.
Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting the design, build, release to production, and documentation of operational cloud-based systems.
Proven hands-on experience implementing and operationalizing AI-enabled solutions within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including architecture support, integration, adoption, and documentation.
Strong expertise in GCP and prior delivery experience in both GCP and AWS.
Strong understanding of cloud governance, security, and compliance considerations in regulated environments.
Experience supporting technical recommendations, briefings, and delivery artifacts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong collaboration, documentation, communication, and technical execution skills.
Ability to obtain a federal Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with federal cloud security and governance standards.
Experience supporting cloud landing zones, AI/analytics platforms, data integration, or decision-support systems.
Familiarity with technology transition, workforce enablement, and organizational change in government settings.
Experience working in mission-driven, high-visibility, or regulated delivery environments.
